Canon steigt mit seiner EOS R-Familie in das APS-C-Format ein, zunächst mit zwei Kameramodellen und zwei Zooms. Vorgestellt werden heute die EOS R 10 (24 Megapixel, 979 Euro), die EOS R 7 (32,5 Megapixel, 1499 Euro) sowie die passenden Zoom-Objektive RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM (349 Euro) und RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM (569 Euro). Die beiden Kameras und das RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM werden ab Juni erhältlich sein, das RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM folgt einen Monat später.

Lange wurde es geraunt, jetzt steht es fest: Canon engagiert sich mit seiner spiegellosen EOS R-Familie im Halbformat. Los geht’s mit zwei Kameras, EOS R7 und EOS R10. Mit beiden Modellen möchte Canon Fotografen den Umstieg von einer EOS-DSLR auf eine EOS R-spiegellosen schmackhaft machen. Und natürlich die EOS R-Familie für neue Kunden öffnen und attraktiv machen. Passend zu den neuen Kameras kommen zwei APS-C-Objektive mit Bildstabilisator, das sehr kompakte RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM sowie das Universalzoom RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM.

Autofokus-Technologie und Leistung auf Niveau der EOS R3

EOS R7 und EOS R10 stattet Canon mit seinem neuesten Prozessor aus, den DIGIC X. Er ermöglicht nicht nur eine beeindruckende Serienbildleistung, sondern sollen den Autofokus und das Trackingsystem nahezu auf das Leistungsniveau der EOS R3 heben. Dank Deep-Learning und Dual Pixel CMOS AF II erfassen beide Kameras laut Canon dynamische Motive wie Fahrzeuge, Tiere und Menschen inklusive Kopf-, Gesichts- und Augenerkennung. Dabei erzielt die EOS R7 eine Serienbildleistung von 30 Bilder/s, die kleinere EOS R10 bringt es immerhin auf 23 Bilder/s – jeweils mit elektronischem Verschluss.

Mit der EOS R7 will Canon Anwendungsbereiche erschließen, wie sie im Halbformat früher top DSLR à la Canon EOS 7D Mark II vorbehalten waren. Zu den Ausstattungs-Highlights der EOS R7 zählen unter anderem ein stabilisierter Sensor (der sogar den Horizont in die Waagerechte bringt, falls die Kamera nicht korrekt gehalten wurde), ein Panoramamodus, der Breitwandbilder mit einem Kameraschwenk aufnimmt sowie ein Bildsensor mit 32,5 Megapixel, der bis zu ISO 51.200 möglich macht.

Mit der EOS R10 richtet sich Canon an Um- und Aufsteiger ins spiegellose R-System. Ihr Bildwandler muss mit gut 24 Megapixel auskommen, das Gehäuse ist etwas einfacher gehalten, der Sensor nicht stabilisiert. Kaum Einschränkungen gibt es beim Autofokus, die Optik des elektronischen Suchers (Sucherbildvergrößerung bezogen auf Kleinbild 0,59x, EOS R7: 0,72x) ist dagegen etwas einfacher gehalten. Bei beiden Kameras beträgt Auflösung des EVF ordentliche 2,36 Millionen dots (1024 x 768 Pixel).

4K-Video und mehr

EOS R7 und EOS R10 filmen beide in 4K-Auflösung und bis zu 60p, die Aufnahmedauer ist erstmals nicht auf 30 Minuten begrenzt. Der EOS R7 vorbehalten bleibt die Unterstützung für Canon Log 3 und Cinema Gamut, Aufnahmen in HDR PQ beherrschen beide Modelle. Beide neue Halbformat-Spiegellose von Canon haben ein schwenk- und drehbares Display.

Mein allererster Eindruck

Ich konnte Canons APS-C-Neuheiten bereits in die Hand nehmen und erste Fotos schießen. Was mir sofort aufgefallen ist: Canon hat rund um das mächtige RF-Bajonett erfreulich kompakte Kameragehäuse gestaltet. Bei der EOS R10 geht man dabei ein paar kleinere Kompromisse ein, bei der EOS R7 erfreulicherweise kaum. Canon hat beim größeren Modell das Hersteller-typische Wählrad geschickt rund um den Joystick platziert und für mich überraschend griffgünstig rechts vom Sucher platziert.

Eindrucksvoll fand ich bei meinem ersten, kurzen Test die AF-Leistung beider Neulinge. In der Preisklasse von EOS R7 und R10 gibt es derzeit wohl kaum eine Kamera, die dem Motiv-Tracking der Canon-Neuheiten Paroli bieten kann – jedenfalls kenne ich keine. Bei der EOS R7 hat mich der große Sucher beeindruckt, bei der EOS R10 ist der recht laute mechanische Verschluss in Erinnerung geblieben.

Auch bei den Anschluss- und Verbindungsmöglichkeiten macht Canon kaum Unterschiede zwischen EOS R7 und EOS R10. Beide Modelle verfügen über eine laut Canon „verbesserte“ Konnektivität per WLAN mit Bluetooth, ihr multifunktionaler Blitzschuh nimmt auch Zubehör wie Mikrofone auf.

EOS RF-S: Zwei neue Zoom-Objektive für APS-C

Passend zu den heute präsentierten Halbformat-Spiegellosen bringt Canon zwei Zoom-Objektive für APS-C: RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM und RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM. Sie sind mit einem leisen, schnellen STM-Fokusantrieb versehen, lassen sich aber ebenso manuell scharf stellen und sollen sich somit auch für Videoaufnahmen ideal eignen.

Als vollwertige Mitglieder der EOS R-Familie nehmen EOS R7 und EOS R10 aber auch alle RF-Objektive auf, via Adapter lassen sich zudem EF und EF-S Objektive verwenden. Zum Marktstart legt Canon beiden Kameras beziehungsweise alle Kits diesen Adapter kostenlos bei.

Bislang waren sich Insider und Experten sicher, dass Canon mit Einführung der EOS R-Halbformatklasse das bisherige APS-C-System EOS M auslaufen lassen wird. Dem hat Canon bei der Vorab-Präsentation der heutigen Neuheiten klar widersprochen: Das EOS M-System bleibt am Markt und rundet Canons Angebot an Systemkameras nach unten hin ab.

EOS R7 und die beiden RF-S-Objektive sollen noch im Juni auf den Markt kommen. Die EOS R10 folgt dann einen Monat späte. Canon wird die neuen Objektive mit beiden Kameras jeweils auch im Kit anbieten, das sind die unverbindlichen Preisempfehlungen:

APS-C-Sensorformat für das EOS R System: Canon stellt neue Hybridkameras EOR R7 und EOS R10 sowie zwei neue RF-S Objektive vor

Canon stellt seine ersten spiegellosen APS-C-Kameras des EOS R Systems vor: die EOS R7 und die EOS R10. Die EOS R7 zeichnet sich durch die zusätzliche Reichweite des APS-C-Formats sowie die herausragende Geschwindigkeit des Autofokus, wie sie von den Spitzenmodellen der Serie bekannt sind, aus – ideal für die Natur- und Sportfotografie.

Die EOS R10 zielt auf die nächste Generation von EOS Nutzern und ist ein leistungsstarkes Allroundtalent – mit beeindruckender Foto- und Videoleistung für die Lifestyle-Fotografie bei optimaler Mobilität. Außerdem werden heute zwei neue RF-S Objektive vorgestellt: das RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM ist ein ultrakompaktes Zoomobjektiv für alltägliche Aufgaben, das RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM ein vielseitiges Objektiv mit großem Zoombereich.

Mit der Einführung der spiegellosen Kameras im APS-C-Format in das EOS R System, unterstreicht Canon sein Engagement mit einer größeren Produktauswahl für die anspruchsvolle Zielgruppe mit besonders hohen kreativen Ambitionen.

Ein neues Maß an Präzision und Geschwindigkeit

Als neue Modelle der EOS R Reihe übernehmen die EOS R7 und EOS R10 die intelligente Autofokus-Technologie der leistungsstarken Canon Vollformat-Modelle für das APS-C-Format. Dank Deep-Learning und Dual Pixel CMOS AF II werden dynamische Motive wie Fahrzeuge, Tiere und Menschen erkannt und mit präziser Kopf-, Gesichts- und Augenerkennung über 100% der Sensorfläche verfolgt. Die EOS R7 und die EOS R10 bieten Autofokus bei Low-Light-Umgebungen bis zu -5 LW bzw. -4 LW[ii] und sind mit Telekonvertern bis zu Lichtstärke 1:22 einsatzbereit. Sie ermöglichen auch unter schwierigen Bedingungen die Verfolgung von Vögeln im Flug oder von Sportlern in Bewegung. Beide Kameras verfügen über Touch & Drag AF, während die EOS R7 erstmals im EOS R System eine Kombination aus Wahlrad und AF Multi-Controller (Joystick) bietet. Dadurch erfolgt eine schnelle und einfache Steuerung bei Aufnahme und Wiedergabe.

Die EOS R7 und EOS R10 verfügen über den schnellsten mechanischen Verschluss aller APS-C EOS Kameras mit 15 B/s sowie über einen elektronischen Verschluss mit 30 bzw. 23 B/s. Die EOS R7 bietet eine mechanische Verschlusszeit von maximal 1/8.000 Sekunde und eine elektronische Verschlusszeit von maximal 1/16.000 Sekunde, um sich schnell bewegende Motive in der Bewegung einzufrieren. Die Kameras sind mit dem neuesten DIGIC X Prozessor ausgestattet und überzeugen mit einer hohen Reaktionsgeschwindigkeit bei der Bildverarbeitung. Der zusätzliche RAW-Burst-Modus nimmt bis zu 30 RAW-Bilder pro Sekunde auf. Diese Bildserie wird als Datei gespeichert, aus der bei der Nachbearbeitung Einzelbilder nach Bedarf extrahiert werden können. Bei aktivierter PreRec-Funktion zeichnet die Kamera dabei außerdem bereits 0,5 Sekunden vor Beginn der Aufnahme auf.

Auch in Bewegung hochwertige Bilder aufnehmen

Der kamerainterne Bildstabilisator IBIS (In-Body Image Stabilizer)[i] der EOS R7 ist perfekt für Aufnahmen aus der Bewegung heraus oder sekundenlange Belichtungszeiten aus der freien Hand. Wie auch bei der EOS R6, EOS R5 und EOS R3 bietet er die weltweit höchste Kompensation bei der Bildstabilisierung mit bis zu 8 Belichtungsstufen[. Zum ersten Mal bei EOS Kameras wird das IS-System verwendet, um den Horizont zu nivellieren, wenn die Funktion „Automatische Wasserwaage“ aktiviert ist. Ein neuer Panoramamodus ist ebenfalls verfügbar, der den kamerainternen IS nutzt, um Verwacklungen bei der Schwenkbewegung auszugleichen. Die neu entwickelten 32,5- und 24,2-Megapixel-APS-C-Sensoren der EOS R7 und EOS R10 bieten eine größere Reichweite und liefern auch aus der Entfernung scharfe Bilder – ideal für die Sport- und Wildlife-Fotografie, bei der man das Geschehen näher heranholen möchte. Dual Pixel RAW sowie die Modi HEIF, Compact RAW und HDR eröffnen neue Freiheiten bei der Nachbearbeitung und ermöglichen eine bessere Wiedergabe von Farbtönen. Der Digital Lens Optimizer liefert automatisch die besten kamerainternen JPEGs und korrigiert Abbildungsfehler ohne Verlust der Aufnahmeleistung.

Mit einem Gewicht von nur 612 g bzw. 429 g (mit Akku und Karte) stellen die EOS R7 und die EOS R10 ein leistungsstarkes Upgrade dar und sind dabei kompakter und leichter als eine vergleichbare DSLR-Objektiv-Kombination. Die handliche EOS R7 ist extrem robust, witterungsgeschützt und eignet sich damit für Aufnahmen unter schwierigen Bedingungen.

Inhalte in 4K

Für den wachsenden Bedarf, sowohl Videos als auch Fotos aufzunehmen, können die EOS R7 und EOS R10 Videos in 4K 60p[i] oder 4K 30p aufzeichnen, die von den 7K- bzw. 6K-Sensordaten per Oversampling erstellt werden, um die bestmögliche Bildqualität zu erzielen. Diese lassen sich in HDR PQ (YCbCr 4:2:2 10-Bit) kameraintern oder über HDMI ausgeben. Die EOS R7 verfügt über einen zusätzlichen 4K 60p Crop-Modus[ii], um die Reichweite noch weiter zu erhöhen – perfekt für das Filmen von Wildtieren. Die EOS R7 kann bis zu sechs Stunden und die EOS R10 bis zu zwei Stunden in 4K 60p aufnehmen[iii]. Das eröffnet die Möglichkeit zur Aufnahme von langen Interviews und Veranstaltungen. Beide Modelle unterstützen die Aufnahme in HDR PQ (YCbCr 4:2:2 10-Bit BT.2020) mit einem hohen Dynamikumfang bei minimalem Grading. Für diejenigen, die noch einen Schritt weiter gehen wollen, ist die EOS R7 die erste APS-C EOS[iv] mit Unterstützung von Canon Log 3 und Cinema Gamut, was einen flexibleren Bearbeitungsprozess ermöglicht. Beide Kameras unterstützen Filmaufnahmen im Hochformat und Technologien für eine optimale Bildstabilisierung. Die EOS R7 kann den IBIS mit dem optischem sowie dem Movie Digital IS für eine unschlagbare Stabilisierung kombinieren. Die EOS R10 nutzt die Daten von Objektiven mit optischem IS, um die Wirkung von Movie Digital IS zu maximieren.

Nahtlose Kreativität und Konnektivität

Dank des intuitiven Designs und der verbesserten Konnektivität lassen sich die Produktionsprozesse individuell optimieren. Der elektronische Sucher mit 2,36 Millionen Bildpunkten bietet einen OVF-Simulationsmodus, mit dem der Umstieg von einer DSLR auf eine spiegellose Kamera noch einfacher wird. Individuell konfigurierbare Wahlräder und ein dreh- und schwenkbares LCD ermöglichen eine nahtlose Bedienung, während die Fokus-Bracketing Funktion um die kamerainterne Komposition erweitert wurde. Das macht diese Kameras zu leistungsstarken Kreativwerkzeugen. Die EOS R7 verfügt über einen Sucher mit 1,15-facher Vergrößerung, der für ein beeindruckendes Aufnahme- und Wiedergabeerlebnis sorgt. Mit ihrem integrierten Blitz ist die EOS R10 ein fantastisches All-in-One-Werkzeug für Aufnahmen in verschiedenen Umgebungen. Mit zwei UHS-II-Kartenslots unterstützt die EOS R7 auch sofortige Sicherungskopien, die getrennte Speicherung von Fotos und Videos oder die Aufzeichnung unterschiedlicher Formate auf jeder Karte.

Zur optimalen Nutzung beim Speichern und Sortieren verfügen beide Kameras über eine verbesserte Konnektivität per WLAN mit Bluetooth. Die Inhalte lassen sich über image.canon an ihr endgültiges Ziel übertragen, und die Kamera lässt sich über die Camera Connect App entweder über ein kompatibles USB-Typ-C-Kabel oder eine drahtlose Verbindung fernsteuern. Ein Clean HDMI-Ausgang sorgt für optimales Streaming sowie das Streaming auf YouTube über image.canon. RAW-Dateien lassen sich jetzt auch direkt in den neuen Canon Cloud Image Processing Service auf image.canon hochladen. Dort erfolgt eine Bildverarbeitung mit neuronalen Netzwerken, um die Bildqualität von RAW-Dateien[ii] noch weiter zu verbessern. Die EOS R7 und EOS R10 sind mit dem neuen Multifunktions-Zubehörschuh ausgestattet – eine Premiere für EOS APS-C-Modelle –, der die Stromversorgung und die Kommunikation für modernes neues Zubehör in Hochgeschwindigkeit ermöglicht.

Für jede Situation das richtige Objektiv

Mit der EOS R7 und der EOS R10 steht eine große Auswahl an Canon RF Objektiven zur Entdeckung bereit. Mit Adaptern lassen sich auch EF und EF-S Objektive verwenden. Mit dem RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM und dem RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM bringt Canon zwei neue RF-S Kit-Objektive auf den Markt, die eine leichte und vielseitige Option für die EOS R7 und EOS R10 darstellen. Sie erweitern die RF Objektivserie, die derzeit insgesamt 26 Objektive von 5,2mm bis 1200mm umfasst. Das RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM ist das ideale Mehrzweckobjektiv für alltägliche Aufgaben. Dank seiner kompakten und einfahrbaren Bauweise ist es perfekt für unterwegs. Das RF-S 18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM ist lediglich 130g leicht, das RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM bringt schlanke 310g auf die Waage.

Mit der Möglichkeit zur manuellen Fokussierung und einem STM mit Leitspindel für einen gleichmäßigen, leisen Autofokus bei Videoaufnahmen, ist es ein unverzichtbares Objektiv für die tägliche Fotografie und die Aufnahme von Videos. Das RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM ist ein Tele-Zoomobjektiv, das vom Weitwinkel bis zum Telebereich reicht und eine maximale Vergrößerung von 0,59-fach im MF-Modus bietet, um auch Makroaufnahmen in alltäglichen Szenen zu ermöglichen.

Dank der fortschrittlichen optischen Technologie von Canon liefern diese Objektive gestochen scharfe Bilder.
