After acquiring Sinar last year, Jenoptik is determined to speed up revenues and earnings of this bad-fared company. Just like the new Shriri-owners of Hasselblad and Imacon a few years back.

To do this, my speculation is that Jenoptik have acquired the rights to the former Contax 645 that is now to be re-issued under the Sinar (and/or Rollei) brand.

The Contax 645 already had a fine range of lenses designed for it and a great working and much approved AF-system. It will come with a new databack of course.

Sinar/Jensoptik and Franke & Heidecker is already working together, since the Rollei 6000-system has its databacks from Sinar/Jenoptik.

The yet to be seen, new lenses for the Rollei 6000-system are all equipped with Jenoptik-nomenclatura, they may issued by Jenoptik via a 3rd party manufacturer that will also manufacture the former Zeiss-645-lenses.

Does these speclations all add up?
